It’s been a minute since the last update. Been collecting parts including NOS Xcalibur seat clamp (same clamp as on the original build), Tuf-Neck stem (same stem as on the original build), NOS Grab-On grips, NOS Suntour Cyclone Black Edition rear derailleur, new cables, chain, etc.

Chain guard still available

K&N handlebars from Kon Tiki in San Diego. Gold by C4 Labs

Rear wheel complete with Ultraglide 5 speed cassette, spacer, drum overhaul, Phil Wood spokes, and gum wall.

Found a NOS Shimano Ultraglide 5 speed cassette I’ll be using instead of the more modern cassette pictured earlier in this thread.

NOS kickstand installed. The RRS Schwinn Spitfire 5 had a silver kickstand. I was originally considering a gold kickstand, but decided to keep it silver. Stenciled chain guard also making an appearance.

Headset installed. Fork’s steer tube had to be cut about 1/4”. I’m always nervous when I start cutting even though I measured multiple times 🤪

Cleaned up the Tange fork caps

Found a pretty decent 13/16 gold post in my stash

Going to attempt a stencil for the chain guard graphics
