    TRADITIONAL Raleigh-Up

My 100 yr old pedals on Quasi had a similar washer and cone nut combo. It was my first ever pedal overhaul,so I figured that was de rigueur.

Day 28 We got a break in the rain, so it's out to the back porch in the BACK40 for a video update!

That's right! I forgot the last part of the first phrase.

I like the very 'classic' look of A. If you can call a stretched and lowered mixed tubing frame 'classic' ! :21:

I don't remember your BO 10 and 11 entries at all, and had forgotten about the recumbent. So that's where my 3 came from.

" Elated at first, then I realized it's a 20" fork, "balls said the Queen." "The King laughed, not because he had to; because he had two." One of my dad's favorite quips during a project. Thanks for the smile this morning, @Wayne .

It's hard for me to compare the wheel color (I'm assuming that is set and won't change) with the paint options. But I think because of your two different tube shapes you have in your frame, to accentuate those, I would paint them different colors. Here is an example I just worked up on my...

If you find that those gray pads don't grip well on those chrome rims, take a light grade sand paper to the pad surface to take the 'glaze' off. I've also had good luck with the salmon colored pads as they have a softer durometer and tend to grip well.

Day 27 So, May is winding down. I have actually totally completed RRB BO builds by June 1 other years. I'm very close to wrapping up this build as well. And I have a week that is relatively free, but a few unpredictable happenings could change things. And, the longer I go, the more money I...

Digging the creative writing process along with the building process, sort of "Zen and the art of RatRodBike Building". :forum: Your rootbeer glisten paint job has me :inlove: and the fat street tires grabbed me like :cool2:. Your green paint on that MBBO build that garnered you an MBBO OJ...

John, your welding skill is moving along at an amazing rate! I'm not sure everyone realizes this is what, just the third bike frame you have built (at least in RRB-ville) ever? Your ideas, methods, jig building, and the actual welds are really top notch-ed! (welding pun intended)

TRADITIONAL SHAOLIN SPITFIRE (Wu Tang Forever)

Cool RaT-ina application, Bobby! I had to keep paging along to get to the final effect. The 0000 steel wool really blended the finish together. I like the idea of a burnt fade you achieved with this method! And the bronzing gave the bare metal a heated up look from the fire.

Go light on the spoke wrench. A 1/4 turn to start works after everthing is 'just tight'. The 'tighten across' method will help keep from pulling too much to one side. Think of tightening the nuts when mounting a car wheel. The spokes on both sides on the opposite side of the rim will balance...

Technically, the photo from the campsite was taken in Wisconsin, but I catch your drift! 🤪 When I lit that fire yesterday around 9 am it was barely 50° out. We did have a beautiful day that got up to 73°, but only 43% humidity. Heard some live music, cleared some brush from the winter tree...
