    TRADITIONAL DILEMMA

Now I have a nice pile of parts that need cosmetic attention. Some cleaning, some rust removal, some compounding, and either a BLO treatment or a clearcoat. The original handlebars in that pile are narrow, leaving very little room for mounting all the "enhancements" I plan to add. So . ...

    TRADITIONAL DILEMMA

Yesterday was all about disassembly and making certain I can fit front and rear disc brakes. What may look like a mess to some looks like a good start to others. Now to remove that stubborn fork, in hopes of fitting a disc brake adapter. With my trusty 2 by 4 and some penetrating oil, it...

    TRADITIONAL DILEMMA

I'm gonna load the sucker up with as much old school bling as I can find. I like my bikes light and lively, but this one is going counter to everything I believe in. It'll need every single one of those 1500 watts of E-power to get it rolling. I'll get started this weekend. Thank you all for...

    TRADITIONAL DILEMMA

So while Parliament, and my man George Clinton, are singing, "We need the klunk, gotta have that klunk," encouraging me to build that Murray, I do believe I'll go with the JCH girlie-girl step-through, (especially if I can find those crash bars (though I may have sold them off.)) And you guys...

    TRADITIONAL DILEMMA

I went to my storage unit way, way early this morning (it feels like yesterday) and found more cool parts. For the JCH, I found these; Yep, parade bars! And these: Yeah, boi- Old school reflectors, an ostrich-skin covered, period correct, ladies snub-nosed saddle, old school lights, vintage...

    TRADITIONAL DILEMMA

I found some pretty cool vintage or vintage-style accessories for the JCH in my garage. There are more in my storage unit. And the 1500W motor wheel set. And for the Murray canti, if I'm to klunk it, I found these in the garage. And, of course, there are more in storage.

    TRADITIONAL DILEMMA

Here's my dilemma: Yesterday I found two pretty good deals on Craigslist; a vintage ladies' J.C. Higgins cruiser complete with truss rods, tank, rack, and both fenders for $80, and a American made Murray canti, not complete, for $25. I bought them both. I'm thinking I could build a "full...

    GUN JUMPER

On my GPS phone app, I clocked it at 31 mph full throttle down my street, and 30 mph back up.

    GUN JUMPER

I corrected a few more design issues, changing out the front wheel to more or less match the rear, replacing a flimsy front caliper with a more beefy one, and adding truss rods off a modern Electra, just for looks. Maybe I'm finished for now.

    GUN JUMPER

My Monark-style springer was delivered, but the steering tube was too short! I'll just save it for the future. So that left me with a front wheel with a useless brake disc attached. I got rid of it. I think it looks cleaner, but now I'm wondering why not just find a spoked front wheel that...

Anybody sniffing BO 19 in the air?

Well, I blew it. I dug out my old Rollfast rat, started looking for and gathering parts for the buildoff, one thing led to another, and I completed the dang thinf last week! It's an e-rat, and tops out at 30.5 mph. Check it out at https://ratrodbikes.com/threads/gun-jumper.119712/

Nice pile. May I fish out of it?

    GUN JUMPER

I wasn't thrilled with the zip ties holding the cables to the frame, so I dug out some old metal clips for a vintage look. I also ordered two decals to show that my rat is electrified. I'm still waiting for shipment of a disc brake ready springer fork.
