I guess it was a sub-brand "designed by Nishiki". The aero tubing is cool.

Let's pretend that I know nothing about road bikes is design by nishiki a good thing? I've got a nishiki tucked away in a barn somewhere, mid ninties chromo hybrid that I'm thinking about building as a road-ish bike

There are certainly a lot of worse bikes out there. All the Nishiki bikes I've seen have been acceptable quality.

Nishiki is good.
They make some great bikes like this one.

And some crappy bikes with cottered cranks as well.

Mine is mid ninties MTB in origin (of course). I think it has v brakes and threadless. I'll be picking it up from one of my storage spots later this month. Gonna be my first geared road project. But probably not drop bars. I just can't. I'll use exercise bike bars before that.
