pickup truckbed bike rack

so im lookin to build a simple and easy bike rack for the bed of my truck. id like it to hold 3bikes if it all possible. ive got a few 2x4s layin around so if anybody knows how to make a homemade bike rack outta a few 2x4s, let me know!!!

oh yea i need to make this by this weekend!!!

I made one a year ago out of PVC pipe. It was tailored to fit in the back of my Dodge and will hold three bikes. Nice thing is when camping, you can pull it out, set it on the ground and have a bike rack. Here's the link..........

Similar to what Harry posted I've seen a metal store bought version bolted to plywood.
I've also seen people who just strap them all together upright without anything to hold the wheels. The tension of the straps just keeping everything in place.

Hey elvis....just take your time and make sure everything fits before gluing. Also, make sure you measure correctly so the rack with not shift left to right in the back of your pickup. I wrapped the top bar with pipe insulation to keep from scratching the front of the bed.

Make sure you measure your tires FIRST. You want to be sure that the bike tire fits between the pipes. For example....once you glue it for a road bike, you ain't gonna get a mountain bike tire in it, haha.
