if the chainguard is orig. I'd leave it on. def remove the kickstand.

$40!??! OHH Nooo! wth! ah! I had like 3 of these growing up as a kid, my dad would buy them at the fleamarket for me to ride, He taught me how to work on bikes with my old GT's i had an old Huffman too.. ahhh ..
I wish i would have saved mine, they were so frickin nice. AH! lol ....!

Well....cleaning the grips...I'd just try dish soap and a rag first.
Definitely leave the bike as original as possible...don't remove anything.
As dorky as the chainguard and reflectors look....they will only increase the value.
Just detail the snot out of that bike and collect the dough. :wink:

Definitely leave the parts on for selling. If the buyer wants them off, easily done.

Cleanied it up some more tonight and had my wife take "nice" pics. When i cleaned it, the paint wasnt even worn in the front sprocket, all white! and there was an original white KMC chain on it! I listed it on th elocal CL, but if there are no bites, it will go on ebay this weekend.
My wife had on an outfit that matched it, so I had to get a pic!
Cleanied it up some more tonight and had my wife take "nice" pics. When i cleaned it, the paint wasnt even worn in the front sprocket, all white! and there was an original white KMC chain on it! I listed it on th elocal CL, but if there are no bites, it will go on ebay this weekend.

Mines gone, I listed it on CL and the guy drove 3 hours one way, handed me 10X what I had in it and drove away very happy. Not bad for a weeks "work"...
Now its time to clean up the '81 mongoose!
