I think your talking about 20" Schwinn wing tip guards like on Sting-Ray's :)

EDIT: I could have swore there was a pic of a wingtip guard there on a tandem, but maybe it was from another page??
 
Took this pic from the for sale section, the ad with the tandem.

Hard to explain when you can't find words. I already have a stingray one. Really love the front of the american one and wanted to know if the same shape of the 26 one exists for a 20.

Anyway thanks for your answer.... Never get tired of seeing your bike!!!! And really need handlebars like that!!
 
Not in a 20"

When those guard were first being used on the bigger bikes the 20" bikes had chainguards like these (there is also a smooth side version but it is the same shape)

In the 60s they started using the guard like you find on a stingray
 
If you are any good with a MIG you could shorten one easy enough.
 
They also made the Phantom style deluxe guard in 20" back in the 50's. Hard to find though. Gary
