I bought it thinking that it was the part that holds the rear rack of an x-53 to the frame but when i got home and looked at it, it ws not right. WHAT IS IT?:eek:

Not sure; what're the IDs of the holes? Could it be some kind of truss bracket? That'd be my first guess if the big whole is 1" diameter.
 
I don't think it could be for truss rods because this piece looks more like it would be a stationary shroud for the headtube of some bike. No idea what bike though.
 
It's for a women's X-53. It goes over the top of the seat tube and is the bracket for the rear carrier assembly.

Oops! I totally spaced..... I forgot the wife is building an x-53. I came across this part in a box and was wondering what it was for. Well, a bit embarrassed but thanks for playing!
