First I umasked the dogleg crank and mated it with the star crank.

Then I started deciding what I needed to do with the chrome on the frame. I quickly discovered something I hadn't realized this entire time that I have been working on this bike. It has a beat up clear coat on it. A lot of what appears to be dull and old chrome has actually been the clear coat. I thought about using a stripper, but went the steel wool methond instead.

Here is the contrast photo with both cleaned and uncleaned areas.

Then I went to town. It took a while and I have steel wool slag all over the place. But the results are great. I still need to get into the joints, but the chrome is in great shape.

Your 'Liner looks awesome! Amazing what steel wool and PB Blaster/WD-40/Liquid Wrench will do to chrome!

I haven't even started polishing or anything. This was just from removing the clear coat!

Thanks!! I really like how the star and dogleg turned out too. Piece by piece it's all coming together.

I get the chrome even better later. I also still need to paint the lower twin canti's with the red.

The chrome is cleaning up really good and I finished the chainguard last night.

Finished up the chainguard this morning before coming to work. I had to bring it in with me to share with the gang. It was like walking around with a Hot Rod Baracuda (and I'm talkin bout the fish not the mopar).

Painted the inside and the tips of the header pipes.

I am very please how well the handpainted Flying tiger/ Hot Rod Baracuda mouth came out.

How do you like the EVIL EYE????
