Re: 1935 Colson - update 2-21

That skiptooth on the new crank looks killer. I would figure out a skiptooth drive train. The rear sprocket is not biggie, but the chain is $$$

Re: 1935 Colson - update 2-27 New Old Hub

Well, Since I want to use the Sweetheart Skiptooth, I am ditching the Nexus. It will have to be saved once again for another project...

Instead I am going with the old Morrow that came on the bike. Thanks to Rusty513 I got the parts I needed to rebuild it. I have completely torn down the hub and rebuilt it. It's amazing how well these old hubs are made. I also got some nice weathered blue Schwinn grips that will probably go on this bike.

Nice stuff! Gotta watch this one.

Love the old hubs brought back to life! The Morrow is pretty bullet proof and if properly maintainted will last forever.

Kepp up the updates!

Re: 1935 Colson - update 2-27 More Sneak Peeks

Here are a few more sneak peeks, The Brooks Saddle I got from Kota that was on my Nirve seemed more fit for this bike.
I went to Cycle Sport bike shop in Loveland and they gave me a few freebies. These cool basic pedals, a wheels to use to lace my Morrow hub in to and a rim strip. Lacing the wheel gave me a little trouble. I thought it was measured for a cross 3 pattern, but it was a cross 4. I was about 90% finished when I figured it out and had to start over.

Now I just need to figure out the bars and clean up the chain.

It's looking nice man!

Would love to see some shots of your shop too...it looks very Monk-ish.

Re: 1935 Colson - update 3/1 Which bars???

OK, so which bars should I use on this bike. Here are a few that I have to choose from. Keep in mind, I am willing to shorten most of these if it looks good. I know some look the same, but they all are at least a little different.

Re: 1935 Colson - update 3/2 Copper Cup Holder

Check out this cup/bottle/coffee holder I made from an old copper Moscow Mule mug. My mom had this mug hanging in her kitchen for decades and she was about to send it to Goodwill.

So is this coming with you to Dayton on Saturday? Looking pretty cool so far.

That's the goal. I just need to finish cleaning up a skiptooth chain and put it on and figure out a cool way to attach the brake arm ( or just use a regular strap)

Re: 1935 Colson - update 3/2 Copper Cup Holder

i say you use another brake arm, cut it and weld it on the frame. :D
