26" rim questions

OK, I'm on a roll so I'm going to pose another question for the experts. I'm hoping to run a 26" x 1.75" tire up front and a 26" x 3" tire in the rear of my next project bike. Any suggestion for tires that match, or at least mostly match in that range. Also, and maybe most importantly, a matching set of wheels that will allow me to run those two extremes in tire widths. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

i have put 3 inch tires on many differnt rims ...from mnt bike rims 2 reg ol balloner rims ...
as for matching tires ...im sure someone will know if thats possible
