Hello fellow builders. I kind of started a build without nowing that I'm already building. So as I continued I thought, why not join the build off...

Here is what I already did/got so far:

A bent fork (that's where it started last week)

A frame for the fork (I had this one hanging around in my shop for a while)

Some barrel staves

and a discarded fog machine

Let's see where this leads to....

When I got back home today I dug these out of a box:

They sat in a box for years (I bought them for a murphy bed I never built). Now they will find a new home right here:

They will move the 28" back wheel further back and up. In the front I tried a 26" but it's too tight. So I'll switch back to 24" as in the first post:

Sorry for the bad pictures, but I had only my phone with me...

Yesterday I got a 24" front wheel from a friend. So it was time for a serious mockup. (back wheel is still a placeholder as it has to be built):
Saddle has to be level, but I like it already

Sissybar made out of barrel staves as well? Let's see where this leads:

Adapterplates work fine (changed already)

Original crank arm is to long, replacement is already at hand:

I also put aside some other stuff for this build:

This morning I stumbled over this beauty:

I want to put in a 3gear Torpedo with coaster break. So today I sloted the dropouts to be able to adjust the chain tension.

When mounted the slots will be almost level:

And this is how I intend to fix the break anchor:

Custom slotted dropouts! I like how you quickly visualize things, make the changes and move forward. This has a great 'rat rod' vibe!
