I have a bendix red band coaster brake hub I want to refurb,
But it doesn't have a cog in it, or the snap ring.
If I remember correctly, standard cb cogs won't fit on these...
Anyone know what fits these? And do I need a special snap ring?
Thanks!

I think any of the 3 tab cogs will work. I have a number of them in different number of teeth if you let me know what size you are looking for. I have lots of the snap rings and can provide you with those also.

The problem is the newer shimano style cogs have little bumps on those three notches. Normally if you try one the snap ring won't sit in the grove right and could pop off while riding.

Ok, I found a bendix 16 tooth cog in my parts bin,
Now my question is...
Can I use any snapring? Or is it specific to the bendix hub?
Can other cogs be used?
Thanks

Hmmm...
Mine isn't splined, but has the three divots like most cbs...
I took it apart tonight and discovered that one of the brake shoes it broken in half :(

Here's what it looks like:

So now I need to find another hub, or replacement brake shoes...

Yep,I goofed. That screw assembly came from an older hub,the RB has the tabs. I just realized my mistake looking at another one.Sorry for the bad info.

No worries...
A friend of mine gave me a second RB2 today, which seems to be complete!
There is a dust cover missing from the one I had, that goes on the sprocket side.
The one ge gave me has a different brake arm, which leads me to believe it might be a newer hub.
I'll probably use the one he gave me, and keep the other for parts...
