I have a bendix RB2 hub that I dissasembled, and cleaned...

I did a dry reassembly to make sure everything was in place before I grease it up.

When I turn the cog to drive the hub there is a fair amount of resistance, ie: doesn't turn very good. Fighting against resistance.

If I back off the cog a hair, the hub spins free very well, no binding.

Is it normal to have this resistance when turning the cog/drive?
Or is it because it's not greased and isn't laced to a wheel, that The resistance is magnified?

Thanks,
october
