So, here's a little teaser. Who can shed some information, albeit crude pictures, on the two handle bars shown...

Clark

You surprise me Clark, latent gearhead that you are. The upper bar shows definite signs of having had a twist grip on one end, therefore it must belong to a motorcycle (of course, since the earliest motorcycles were just bicycles with engines crudely attached, the answer could still be a bicycle of some sort).

Well,Mr. Clark...sir...you ain't the onliest one with surprises to show at the bike swap/show/artfest this weekend.I just finished a kool, kustom TruRat build just for yours & Sills big bike hoedown,showdown...whadda think on that? Now YOU get to wait & see (like everyone else). I'll post pics here on RatRod after the show....I'LL SEE EVERYONE OUT THERE...RIGHT?!?...GONNA BE A DUESEY!...P 8)

Hey, here's a couple cool and unique rides for the little ones... next Christmas of course. It may take Santa that long to restore, it make take that long before the wife will allow them into the house too!?

These two bikes that were part of our haul a few weeks back that John (jjmunster) and I lucked into. I hope to send them on their way to a good home and the monies helping out the not for profit Blue Springs Arts Council.

Yea, I know the feeling. As most everyone around here knows I usually don't get going much either till well after 8:30 or 9:30 most mornings. Got to love self employment! But for this one I'm planning on trying to get set up Friday night, too be ready for the early deals and buyers.

There are a few special things I will be looking for, so if you have two or three of these just taking up space in your garage/shop be sure to bring them, I will have cash. Looking for a late teens - early 20's Schwinn "World" racer fork, and need a stem for this bike too. Also need an early 50's Girls Higgins Color Flow tank (the one with 4 jewels on the side) dark blue would be great but any color will work.

Looking forward to it.

Here's something to add to "you don't see that every day" file.

Last weekend while at the local car cruise in downtown Blue Springs, John got a wild hair and walked over to the Police station... it was only about 2 blocks away. He inquired about the bike patrol paying us a visit at the swap meet Saturday morning! "What the..." LOL. They (desk Sargent) were all over that idea! Guess it gives them something different to do beyond the ordinary? I'm just glad to give them a destination [and purpose] to ride, albeit 1 mile.

So, come Saturday morning we should have some of Blue Springs finest visiting us at the swap, on their own two wheels.

Clark

P.S. Do you suppose they'll join us on our bike crawl to get some ice cream?

marty can u remember to bring your pinstriping stuff with you please man?! i want you to throw a few red stripes on my lowrider i just finished and i think my brother wants some white n black stripes put on his. lemme know man. lookin forward to see you guys.

i cant believe john would do such a thing but it would be cool to see the 5 o's out there supporting the hobby and how freakin cool would it be to have a bicycle police escort on the ride?! just a thought....

Hey Clark, I've had a lot of people asking about the swap meet tomorrow, and want to know more. I can't find any ads on it, do you have this on craigslist or anything? I put up some flyer in a couple of spot around this area. Just askin. Don

They Ed, sorry man I'm really not set up to go moble and stripe. I don't have all my paints/brushes etc. together in a tool box or anything. Heck, I can bairly lay down a decent line or two in the shop with the work bench for support let alone out in a parking lot. Maybe we can get Huey to come out, now he can throw down some stripes!!! Hey Rich, if you see this in time can you see if Huey can come out? I got a chain guard I need him to do also I can bring along.

Yeah Rich...go see if HotRod Huey can come out & play (and make some $ to boot)! Everything is packed up in the truck & on the trailer...gonna leave to go get set up early. I've got some kool stuff to sell, look'in for kool stuff to buy! It's gonna be a GREAT time &
looks as though the weather is gonna be co-operative.Hope to see all my old pals & gals...dang sure hope to meet some new ones as well...SEE YOU ALL THERE!...Pappy 8)

The flyer is on the 1st page of this thread, John has posted on dozens of craigslist (different cities), and it's gotten some air time on a couple other forumns. Just got home from setting things up and getting some early shows (people already arriving) set-up and in place. There's got to be 75+ bikes out just waiting for the morning sun. Had several people drop by just to make sure they could find the place before venturing out tomorrow (later) this morning.

Going to be a good time had by all.

Just got about an hour & 1/2 ago, don't make a ton of money but had great time all the same. I did buy one ok bike and traded for a couple of others, sold off a couple of boxes of parts. I'll try and get some pix up soon of my day out. Dos

Had a great time! Traded some, sold a little, laughed alot.Note to self...'buy an air mattress if you're gonna sleep in the bed of your truck the night before the swap!' ...my back is killing me. Sills & Clark have really done an excellent job with this, the first year, of this meet.I can see it growing into a major event here in the midwest...GREAT JOB GUYS! Congrats to my pal,Mark C., in winning the show and shine with his awesome 2-tone green Hawthorne...Great to see HotRod Huey out there lay'in down some really kool stripes...the Hooter's gals were a nice distraction also. Get ahold of Clark, aka Sleeper Sedan, get on the list and join us next year for a fun time...You can count on me to be there with my new air matress! If you attended this years meet let Sills & Clark know what you liked &/or disliked so they know how to improve their event,a well deserved slap on the back wouldn't hurt either...Thanx guys...I had a blast!...Pappy 8)
