What would be a good rim width for a 26x4.5 tire. I like a tire that bulges out from rim so that rim does not look near as wide as tire, new to the fat tire thing any input appreciated and pics. would be helpful before I buy rims did some searching but have not found anything helpful so far and am confused  3" rim??? or? Thanks

If you care about what manufacturers recommend, you´ll use 55mm wide rims as the minimum for 4.5¨ tires. If you disregard manufacturer´s suggestions, running too wide of a tire on too narrow of a rim can result in blowouts, sidewall failure, or damage to the rims at the hook. Of course, it may never happen, but then again, it very well might....here´s some affordable ones at 57mm, that come in 36h so you can easily lace them onto cruiser-friendly hubs. (A lot of fatbike rims are 32h only, for MTB applications...) http://www.3gbikes.com/parts/wheels/26x57rims/
