Fresh find from Down Under (Trike)

I figured I would just move the thread here if thats ok

So I was out at a garage sale afew days ago and picked this up,

(didnt come with the forks)

I messed around with afew different ideas

Didn't really like it with the fatty on the front

I finally decided to go with 24's all around (also noticed it has 24" double walls on the rear!)
swapped out the rear tyres for some 24" iron cross ones I had sitting around for ages and swapped the forks over and started mocking up the tray (after i did a little repair work)

the previous owner butchered the rear of the bike with a motor install and some "patch" work. But LTJ helped me get the bike looking awesome again in the rear.

This is it so far will keep you all posted on progress over the next few weeks.

Also after ideas for paint will consider anything but black (90% of my bikes are black)

And heres one with the right size front wheel on (ignore the red bars it for mocking up something else)

And since the build off started today I got stuck into the wooden tray mock up

I still have to do some straighting up but its looking good so far

Weight doesn't really bother me on bikes and there's barely 1/2 a square meter of it so not much at extra weight at all

I'm still a beginner when it comes to frame building, (less than a year) I just like trikes

Small update today: Front light arrived so I had to mock it up!

I'm glad I went with the bigger one, Still may convert it to LED but I will wait and see what the rears look like

Got the Tray redone today ( I wasn't happy with the fitment of the wood ) But I sure am now!

I still have to mount the wood and the tray to the bike and even out the spaces in the tray (it does expand a bit with moister) Should be some more updates tomorrow if the weather holds out

So have a small issue with the tray... Hide the screws or make them visible and go stainless hex countersunk? whats everyone think?

I think visible would be easier and could look pretty good if you used some counter sunk washers. Also, in the U.S. up until the late 60s truck beds were lined with oak boards. They had space between them to contract or expand with weather covered by metal strips. That could be an option..

I suppose if you had to, you could use those metal strips that are used in flooring. The ones that are used in doorways to separate wood from carpet.
Or maybe something like kitchen counter tops had wrapped around the edges years ago. I imagine there's a hardware store in your area that has something.

Love this idea, no idea how to make it happen though!
If it was me I think I would drill holes under the frame and screw them from underneath with no fixings visible...
Love your lights Kel, hopefully those COB LED boards will work for you!
