We love to haul our bikes to fun places to ride, problem is they don't exactly fit in a traditional bike rack so we just toss them into our old hot rod. Besides it is cooler then hanging them on the car right?

I have a late 80's Chevy 3/4 ton van. Built a PVC rack to haul 3 bikes. Theres room for bikes with apes. I haul my bassboat with it,and setup a queen air mattress in it to sleep in on fishing excursions.

nice bobber.....got any more info on it or a build thread on a bobber forum somewhere?

No build thread, but it started life in 1986 as a Honda rebel 450. Chopped it up and now it's just my bar hopper.

My wife and I would like to take our Electra's to different towns and do some riding. I just prchased a new pick-up and I'm thinking about building a rack to haul them in. Any suggestions? I've got a welder so fabrication is possible.

This is what my bikes go in- 1970 VW Station Wagon. Yeah, most people call it a Bus, some a Transporter. Technically in VW nomenclature it's a Type 2, and the Deluxe, passenger-hauling model is the Station Wagon. It meant all the seats, all the windows, all the chrome trim. A different rig altogether from a Westfalia camper or a Kombi model. I run it with the middle seat out so I can haul some bikes and some people.

We used to use a Subaru with a hitch mounted bike rack. But whenever we wanted to go to a big city like Hartford or Boston they would be to vulnerable. I didn't want a mini van....So I ended up with a Honda Element. Bought a two bike park rack. Quick release on the front wheels and just slide em in standing up. Still plenty of room for luggage, coolers and Christmas Tree Shops junk.

When we are gone for more than 3-4 days we shove 2-3 bikes in Big Black (which is our shop trailer /travel hotel as well) or if going for a bike show I can get about 20 in it.
