That looks built for speed! I'd be tempted to put a 2 speed kickback on that so you could hit 35mph! Here's mine, 1942, undergoing a big change in the build off now:

I have been working in Omaha, Nebraska for the last 5 months, been stalking the bikes here, finding some, fixing them and selling them, to get more, only so much room in the hotel suite.

I scored these two Hawthornes, rebuilt the green one and the tank bike, well just rode it, didn't want to sell it, but the guy who bought the green one, well he wanted it more than I did.

They were both fun bikes. The green Hawthorne was a '64 the red one was a 59'

68' super formula V Hawthorne 5 speed all original parts . Look just like it was sold str8 out Wards Montgomery Ward's catalog .

I started riding this in 1962 when I was 5ish, and removed it from the barn on the family farm 50 years later. 24" skippy with killer basket. Don't know what to do with it. SKPC
