I thought I knew all the 60's bikes. Anyone know what this is? It has one rivet in the middle of the head tube where the badge should have been.

Evans...latest of '50s to earliest of '60s.

Edit, more precisely, between '58 (when everyone started making cantilevers) to '62 (last year for Evans). I would guess in the middle because that isn't the early guard, and those aren't the later forks.

My first bike was an Evans! I should have known by the chain wheel and dropouts. My bike was bought used in 1961 or 1962. It had the same stripes on the fenders but they were squared fenders. Thanks!

I believe that the serial numbers may indicate the year of manufacture.
Evans may have started with 1954-A(?).
A boys 26” might be stamped “B26”.
I have heard that in later years, Evans filled orders with Murray built frames (stamped with an “M”).
