Hello rat people, greetings from England!

What a great site, I have really enjoyed looking at your bikes. Unfortunately we dont have the same kind of Kustom/ hot rod culture that you guys enjoy in the US, and where it does exist its usually all about cars, very few folks are into bikes and even fewer are into rodding them. Having said that, Electra bikes are on sale in the UK and a few people are into lowriders so its not all bad.

My fleet includes a Centenary Black Phantom with Dyno Flame tires and a Profile Imperial chainring. Its Probably the only one in the UK. Its not a rat as such but its cool. I have a couple of long term projects waiting for me to get off my fat a and finish them, also a Daywoo Shuttle folding bike with a 72 spoke rear and 18 spoke front, carbon bars etc. The latest addition is an A-Bike which has to be seen to be believed, Ive provided a link for your entertainment. In two days time I will be collecting a 1956 Triumph Palm Beach which will become my Beach Rat. (Some of you may know of Triumph Motorcycles who are still in business and like many companies, Schwinn and Raleigh included, used to manufacture bikes and motorbikes).

Ill post some pics soon. Hope these links will be of interest to you.

Hi MAdmick.

Some of us americans think english bikes are cool too. I have owned a triumph bicycle at somepoint and a few raleighs ..but Wow!!! That seat on the A-bike SCARES me. I would be afraid the bike would become permanently attached after riding. LOL

I am new to this site but I enjoy hearing about the overseas folks. Anybody ever see the bikes piled up and abandoned in tokyo outside of train stations? I've got pics somewhere....amsterdam too.

Welcome aboard MADmick, orbittron (and others)

We do seem to be a geographically diverse bunch here. We've got the US, Canada, France, England, Germany and others I'm sure.

Germany, and Berlin in particular, seems to be a hotbed of custom bike activity.

As for the UK, I believe the Chopperdome has opened up shop there (Essex?).

* If all goes according to plan, I'll be in the UK next year for a vintage Motorbike tour !WooHoo!*

Yeah, the saddle is a butt buster thats for sure multipass. I think it was designed for space alien rear ends, I cant imagine any human butt getting comfortable on it!
