new find,mint murray 6 speed,anyone know how to find the year,ihya $20

There should be a black or silver sticker on either the top or bottom of the seat tube that will have the year on it.

Could have serial on headtube...or even a year on the badge/sticker.

I'm guessing between '89 and the end of US made Murrays...much closer to '89.

Yes...that's the sticker I'm talking about on PRNDL's post .

That's the easy way to date these frames, if the frame still has its sticker. The serial on the head tube should start with 'MO', and the third digit should tell the year. I know 'J' and 'K' are '93/'94, respectively...however, the early 80s were MO and a number, the number being the last digit of the year. I don't know when they flipped to letters, and I don't know what letter they started at. I had a theory at one time...but, I forgot it .
