Picked up a Sears Spyder fully chrome that I believe is a early/mid 60s version. Once I figure out the picture posting I'll add it. I've already cleaned it up, ordered new tires and several other goodies...I'd love to add some front/rear chrome fenders if anyone knows where I can get them...
Seems like each time we mention Pig Bike people think we are speaking of a Ratty Pile in the scrap heap. So thought it might be time to post on the subject again. Normally a Pig Biuke is a Pre-60's side walk bike converted to a Hi Riser with wide apes and polo seats.
This is one of my favorite Pig Bikes built by "ZagarAx" years ago on a Spit Fire frame.
Nice bike.
I think it is original, the seat is probably hard as a rock, the ads back then show that that's the right seat and handlebars, so it's not really a pig bike. Although there's nothing bad about pig bikes.
Here's a 1965 ad:
I got my fenders for my cruiser on amazon, but I don't see any flared 20" listed. I looked around, but everything listed is full fenders, not the flared musclebike kind you need. There should be tons of used ones out there. Our wanted section might be jyour best bet for finding a decent set.
Here's a 64 model, must have come new with no fenders:
In the ad, the bike's chainguard has an extra word I can't make out. I think the one speed version says only Spyder like on this one and has the smaller chain wheeel, not the big classic Murray we see on the bikes with gears. So I think it's an original one speed bike.
