I love looking at the racing bikes and parts that are so obscure that even an expert would not know about them.
They have to be older than 1990 though.

Freewheels with all the same cogs were an experimental design to see if gears were a placebo effect.

Nylfor headsets were made to be extra light and smooth, but they cracked very easily.

Here is one paired with a magneseum stem.

I assume that a bike from the 84 Olympics isn't obscure enough

here's the Huffy that was available in stores to emulate the Melton-built Olympic bikes:

they were ten speeds, but this one was being converted to a single speed.
most definitely NOT a racing bike.

Formula 1 BMX existed in the latest of 80s into the earliest of 90s .

There were a bunch of different companies that made bikes for it, but, the Hutch HPV Superbike is probably the most recognizable...

That Huffy on the top has the smallest cogs ever on a freewheel. I like the department store one as well. The silver bike mad me go J:

Victor Vicente of America. You might not have heard of him. VVA_with_his_Coin.jpg Artist, philosopher, champion. Before mountain bike 26" alloy rims, he was building this. images.jpeg And this oijojo.jpg After the big rims became available, he went all mullet. Didn't want to admit he was wrong about 24, but 26 advantages were impossible to ignore. VVA2420 Mud.jpg

I would LOVE that P650 he's holding. Either, really, but I'd ride the 650 harder
