OCC head badge

It looks like the Schwinn Sting Ray OCC plastic headbadge is glued on. Any tips for removing it without breaking it?

I used an old butter knife and SLOWLY worked around it, moving toward the center as I went around it.

Thanx!......I'll bet it would be better if it sat in the sun for a while too, rather than Wisconsin winter cold! Maybe with a little hair drier heat and a broad putty knife up either side, letting the lift come along with the heat (not too hot, mind you), easing it and I should be good, then. Im not one to force stuff, just didnt know how tough that glue might be.

If I remember correctly, it's more like spongy two-sided tape than actual glue.

I agree, some heat with a putty knife and you'll be fine.

Try dental floss. Start at the top and saw back and forth along the contour of the head tube behind the badge. The floss should cut the tape without damaging the badge.

Dental Floss.....WOW, what a cool idea! Ive never tried it for anything like this....sounds like worth a try (maybe this old dog can learn a new trick?)

Yeah, those are the ones. It isnt critical that I salvage it, but a challenge; I always try to do the least damage, save parts and learn something. They are kinda cool looking, and would suit a number of blacked out builds with 50's flames (like my Dyno Deuce), eh!

Fishing line works better than floss. Thats what we use in the body shop.
