Guten tag! Been looking for reasonably prices trikes for a while now, and came across this one. Had it shipped across the country, but overall it wasn't too expensive. It's in decent condition, lots of surface rust, the usual when it comes to older bikes. The seller told me there was some kind of problem with the axle/drive or something, two bent washers or something like that. I'll probably ask for help in the future when I start taking it apart. Had a local bike mechanic look at it, he could not see anything from the pictures, but he also couldn't put together a single-speed coaster brake, so I don't know..
Anyway. I am unsure about age and brand. I don't know much at all really, except that the headbadge says Sport80 Luxus, which is a compact folding bike made in the 70s in west germany. It also has the characteristics of this frame in the front end, which first made me think the rear could be a bolt-on tricycle kit. Now, while the rear IS bolted on, the dropouts on what would be the original frame is different, and incapable of holding a wheel. So it looks like the rear and front are definitely made for each other, but I can't be 100% sure. If it's a kit, it's an old one.. There is also some worn-out markings on the seattube. There's an old 3-speed shimano friction shifter, and a mount on the front fork for a dynamo (I think). 24"'s all aorund.
Any possible info on this bike, or even this type of bike, would be great, since I will have to fix the drive, stop the rust, grease etc. Anyway, here are some pics from this early winter morning.

Below is the place where the seller told me there was an issue. Something about 2 bent washers, that he straightened, but they bent again. He said it was an easy fix, but who knows..

So there it is. This will likely be my biggest project yet. Not sure what to do with it yet, so I'm open to suggestions..

Here's a bonus pic from what used to be my kitchen

The model is called Kynast, and it is indeed made as a trike. The web seems void of any information besides that..

Cool trike. Is that a folding frame? I hope your Shimano 3 speed coaster hub is OK. :)
Yup! Based on a typical folding frame. As for the hub, I'm hopeful, but the drive skips abit before catching when I pedal, not really sure what that means tho.. I've gotten the stem and seatpost unjammed, just trying out some stuff now and cleaning it up. Gonna have to cut off the fender braces in the rear to fit 2.35" tires. That's fine, the fenders are scrap anyway.

I wanted to fit a springer fork on this, but the headtube/steerer is 220mm... Any solution to that?

My brother has a Falter Super Star, made by Faehnrich of West Germany, that was owned by my aunt in the 1970's. I found this pic on the net, but his bike is similar. Looks like they fold the same way.
