So I recently acquired an awesome worksman frame set.

It’s spray bombed black, but I can see some yellow peaking through.
The aim is to reveal the yellow under and build a ‘beater’ with parts on hand.

I’ve realized I have two types of builds. Ones where I prep and collect parts over months, aim to keep things all era correct, and spend too much money. And ones where I throw a frame in the stand and build something I want to ride with parts I already have and spend nothing. This build will be of the latter style.

Also when I typically build quick ones, I don’t not stop and take pics. So I’ll try and do that.

Are you going to use the basket?
:21:
Not on this one! But I do have one of those baskets on my grocery getter. Man they’re huge!

I started lightly sanding the rear triangle and thought the yellow looked pretty decent underneath. When I got to the front it was a lil different story.

I think it looks rad though, so I’m going to continue to remove the black. Then i’ll Clear coat it and start bolting junk on.

Gather parts while the paint dries.
90s GT power series chromo 180mm crank, GT spider, and SR 40t ring. Would prefer a 42, but the 40 will do.

Found a bb laying in a pile of parts, and i’ll be using the existing headset

Seems the fat franks were a lil too chubby and wouldn’t fit between the chainstays.
Quick check through one of the tire piles and a set of balloon knobby white walls is found.

There’s also an issue with the fork not liking the quick release front wheel, so I’ll dig out a bolt on one.
