Fortunately I had the parts I needed. Did a little work today, nothing pic worthy but progress.

Tomorrow I'll get the new kickstand on, and weld on disc brake tabs. Then wire up the motor and make sure it's still working.

Added the kickstand and disc brake tab.

And got the frame painted.

I didn't take it to bare metal, because I want some of the rust and old paint to come through. I'm going for a patina look.

Now I just have to do a crap ton of body work.

The big problem now, is the rear wheel slides out of the frame when I try to ride it.
Doesn't matter how tight I turn the axle nuts, it just falls out.

Just thinking... are you using torque arms? Even in steel you should, and especially the older frames.

I know you’ve switched frames, but all the ebike lore I’ve ever read says “torque arms, don’t ride electric without them.” Might even make the first frame viable again.

That's what the tabbed washers are, they were to small for the murray frame. They fit nice and snug in the schwinn frame, had the motor on and running this morning with no issues.
Thanks for the link, now I know they aren't called tabbed washers.

Didn't see that coming!..I'm excited to watch this build.

Thanks guys.
I think I'm going to have fun working on it.

Now. Does anyone know how the lowrider car crowd makes the bumper sparks?

I'm thinking a lever activated thing on the back with a magnesium bar attached.

Maybe.

Sick Sick Sick!!!
We may be looking at the beginnings of the Winner of BO13!!!
I can't wait to see this come together!
