After an unsuccessful flea market run, I found an early-eighties Schwinn Voyageur 11.8 at a yard sale for $15. It's a beautiful lightweight bike with double-butted chromoly tubing, nice lugs, and fully chromed under the paint. A tad small for me, but it went to a friend who wants to build it as a fixie 
I stripped it down for him and kept all the parts other than the headset, stem and seat post & BB. Felt a bit guilty about this bikes future, but he won't be re-painting since the black paint (w/gold & red decals) and chromed stays & fork is in great shape.
I realized too late that I neglected to take any pics, so it will have to wait until its next incarnation.
