Hey everyone, I picked up a Sears Spaceliner a few weeks back and was wondering if anyone had tips for polishing it up. There is no major pitting just a lot of surface rust and some weird yellowish looking stuff. Maybe a clear coat or something? Anyway I'm trying to glam it up a bit after deciding not to sell. Any suggestions?

I stripped my StratoFlyer with chemical paint stripper, cleaned up the rust with light steel wool, and then polished and waxed the frame. The only really bad rust damage (peeling chrome) was on the seat post, so I painted it black. It turned out pretty nice.

My old standby for chrome is aluminum foil, balled up and soaked with water. Stubborn rust gets light scrub with fine scotchbrite sanding block. Then polish and wax.
