Hello all!

I'm LI-ghtcycle (short for Lithium Ion Cycle) on most forums, got my start building Ebikes about 10yrs ago, and wanted to share my latest creation! The rear hub in this pic is my now defunct NuVinci N171b (it started making a growling noise and vibrating the whole bike it sounded like I had an ICE!!! LOL!! Little kids loved it, thought I was "reving up the engine" unfortunately, even though it smoothed out at about 15 MPH+ I had to get rid of it, and my other N171b hub is low on fluid, Fallbrooktech no longer supports this hub, and won't even sell me fluid, so these days I am using a Nexus Inter-3 IGH) I really enjoy this bike, the riding position is extremely comfortable, but the saddle (nearly new brooks B190) looks better than it feels lol! I have a Motorcycle solo seat that I am going to adapt to the frame soon, this one is not bad for a wedgie, but nothing compares to a truly comfortable seat! That, and I really like the vintage motorcycles of old when they first started converting bicycle frames to motorized versions, just right for me, as I really love getting some exercise too, it's the only thing that has kept me from being nearly bed ridden with chronic fatigue (Gulf War Syndrome). And I want to share this with others, so I will be building and renting similar Ebikes that will be as durable as light motorcycles. :cool2: (no more gears! just a fixed gear rear wheel, and once I get the right motor, direct drive motor as well, I am done with bicycle spec stuff that was never designed to handle the power of a decent Ebike motor :21:) The final pics are the same bike equipped with coolers so I can deliver Uber Eats, right now my day job is pretty slow, so I am working 5 days a week, 50 miles a day, 35 hrs, making just enough to keep me riding (ave $100 before taxes a day for 7hrs work, not including fixing/developing the Ebike)

For the gear heads: I am using a Bafang BBSHD with Lunacycle Hot-rod settings (1600 watt peak on a nominal 1000 Watt motor .. I have a Luda controller waiting to use next once I solve drivetrain vulnerabilities, i.e. geared rear hub, going fixed gear soon), 3MEV Large Triangle 14s 9p Samsung 18650 30Q cells (52V 28Ah) and I get about 30 miles from 50% charge (I usually take a 3 hr break in the middle of the day, best pay is 11am - 2pm, and 5pm to 9pm, charge fully inbetween) but I have had to limp around an entire day when I forgot to charge the night before on 50%, takes a good 4 - 6 hrs to charge from empty (anything below 20% charge, I hate going lower, but when I goofed, I had to take it easy and got home with 15%, still making good time, but no one likes to cruise at 20 when you can at 28 - 30 MPH lol!) Really impressed with 3MEV's battery! It has a blue tooth capable BMS that allows you to see most anything you can imagine down the the cell groups, I just use it to keep track of the charge levels. (when I remember lol! :21:)

Cool Bike. Thanks for the reintroduction. EBikes are definitely here to stay. I've seen some pretty cool front hub drives that scoot, with and without any pedal drive. So now I'm leaning towards building a cruiser with a front hub assist too.

Carl.

Very cool stuff....thanks for sharing the specs and the details about being an Uber Eats driver. I've wondered how that works and how much someone can make doing it.
