I've heard of a 'floating' seat before, but this one takes the cake!
Like the lines of this....RaT oN!

Got to play in the shop today working on the triple tree top. 1/2" thick plate steel may be overkill, but couldn't pass up the free scrap cut off from my metal supplier.

Welded 5/8" bolts into the top ends of the fork tubes and bolted it all up. A little bit of shaping on the top plate still to be done.

Next on the list, work on the driveline.

Welded four 5/8" nuts to four washers, then added 1/2" washers to those. Welded 1/2" threaded rod to the machined 1/2" plate steel. 1/2" plate to the main fork assembly. Plate steel with threaded rod then washer nut combo then porch swing spring, another washer/nut, through the main fork plate, washer/nut, spring, washer/nut. Topped of with 1/2" nut.

Welded 5/8" nuts into end of fork legs and bolted them on. Rocker arms are the first item on tomorrow's to do list.
