I originally wanted to enter this build with a ladies Columbia tank bike that I had plans for flipping to turn into a mens bike
But I have not been able to locate a much needed piece
Thankfully I ran across this project I had set aside

A very "patina" cycle truck (worksman I believe) that I purchased a few years ago

Supposedly it was used at the warner bros studio (I added the schwinn crank when I first got it)

going for a very heavy duty ratty hauler look
so I dug out a lot of parts that never got used for their originally intended purposes

Original front wheel on the left
The rear wheel is from a rixe tandem
It basically has an over sized perry coaster brake(that I planed to use on a klunker style build)
And the cream fat frank tire I picked up at a bicycle co op for cheap

The box on the left with the support arms where originally on the front
but I may replace the tray with the wood & metal crate
The other is a rear rack basket that i may or may not use

then there are the other pieces like the big schwinn exerciser seat
(love the aged brown of it compared to the black seats I have)
And then there are the parts that I need to decide which ones get put on and the ones that do not

Great starting collection of parts!

I like the woody vibe already

One thing that i did not realize would be difficult was finding 20" cream tires
apparently they only just came out
the closest i could find where bmx cream with blackwall
But i was able to get a 20x1.95 tire this weekend
Also ordered new kick stand springs for the front kickstand
getPart

Other than that most of my time I have been trying to figure out a way to make the front basket attach with a quick release system so I can remove it and take with me on a hand cart when I go to swap meets

Maybe something like a drawer slide with a keeper pin drilled into it. Or poles and sockets, with the keeper pin.

Carl.

I like the idea so I went to check out the parts to d it at a local hardware store
while in the aisle I came across metal case (toggle) door latch that might also work
So tank you for steering me in that dirrection

BTW the kick stand springs are to arrive today
so cant wait to put those on

well i got close
and had it not been Easter i might have been able to finish
but ran into to many roadblocks at the end
A bolt holding the kickstand was stuck and ended up shearing off
the drawer tabs where too short (need to order longer ones)
pluss some other things that lead to not finishing on time

you can see the platform i built to hold the crate was the best way i found to hold it in when latched
but it took many other tries that failed before i thought of using this way
but next week is a ratrod ride out here so I plan to have it finished by then
good luck to all who did finish
