You get a LOT of DOF, just as you did in this canal picture. when it's in focus, it's pretty much ALL in focus.
my little pocket camera does the same. IMHO, this is not a bad thing for what you are trying to achieve.

Makes sense. Trying to limit the depth of field for portrait type shots I find difficult with these cameras.

for once, it's not you, it's the camera. Bokeh is impossible with point and shoots.
I like my little camera, but it's not always the right tool for the job. I break out my DSLR and really screw it up! :D

Rode with Mom and Dad today. It was an unbelievable 62 degrees when we headed out.

Duck watching as Mom nurses cut on Dad's hand.

I think the duck looks genuinely concerned. :D

I sure like seeing your posts. Is that Hays KS? If so I think my Dad was one of the head engineers building the big grain elevator. I'm guessing mid 70's?
I'm jealous of your summer temps, if you can believe it. I don't think we've hit 90 yet this year. :(

Thanks for the cool posts.

Thanks. Most of these photos were taken in the Wichita area and Haysville. Not Hays though.
Pretty cool about your Dad though.

Yes he's laughing. Either at the duck or his mishap. He was taking off from a stop in hi gear and hadn't got his balance and momentum going and ran in to a bollard and somehow cut his hand.

No not a 50 mile ride. I woke up this morning a half century old and went for a ride.

Happy Birthday. Great way to celebrate in my opinion. Hope the rest of the day was not too hot to enjoy it.
