Postby heyslugger on Sun May 06, 2012 2:15 am

Saw a thread like this over at BMXMUSEUM. So what's the best bike you ever got under $100 bucks?

$50 bucks - Picture as found.

Let me know if there is already a thread like this ~

Uh, considering the chalk outline, you didn't bump someone off to get that deal did you?
I tried being serious, but it was boring.

I've had several, almost all of my bikes have been under $100. So my top 10 list:

1. 1980's Redline RL-20 Pro-styler Paid $20
2. Spaceliner frame, fork, crank Paid $30
3. Fuji gran tourer Paid $5
4. '58 Schwinn American and '54 Wasp Paid $8 for both.
5. 1961 and '62 girl's JC Higgins Flightliners Paid $10 for both
6. Tandem trike paid $100 for yellow tandem, traded for light blue tandem and tandem trike then sold the light blue one for $100 to break even so got the trike for FREE!
7. Hawthorne twin top tube Paid $5
8. '66 Schwinn Heavy duty Got on a trade but $5 invested.
9. square tube trike Free
10. The one I find next

And my best Non-bike score
1994 Yamaha Razz Paid $50
It doesn't matter what I paid for it, it matters what it's WORTH. I never buy anything I will regret KEEPING.

All my purchases have been less than $100 . These two I bought as a "bundle" for $45.The Dyno Glide Deluxe is one of my favorite bikes.
Image
The Western Flyer ten-speed was $10. I have ridden it a lot.
Image
The Huffy Good Vibrations was $4. It is red , not orange as it appears in the picture.
Image
The Autobike is one of a matching pair, mens and ladies, I paid $40 for.
Image
The Schwinn Le Tour came from the scrapyard for $9 and change , I believe. :D

Stuff I still have.

$85 for this Spaceliner Klunker but after I took it apart it does't seem like it is anymore since the person that did it as much as how good the person was the parts he put on it did not hold up to his hard riding.
Image

$40 for this 1959 Ladies Murray built Mercury bicycle.
Image

Free 65 & 68 Schwinn Stingray that need fixing up, I have been trying to sell the 65 that doesn't have too much on it to get parts I need.

Free Twenty Folder I am selling to get parts I need.

under a hundred bucks always makes me feel warm n fuzzy! lol
Found the GT Dyno rotting on the side of the house and took it home for 20$ and made it fun to ride with some left over cruiser parts, the mountain bike is a 2011 mongoose 29er disc, rode that home for 75$!
Score on both i say!
