S.I.N.S. Scrapers' hotrod/customshow NEW VIDEO ADDED!

Postby herr_rudolf on Tue May 05, 2009 4:17 am

I was invited to participate in the art-exhibition at Europe's best and biggest indoor nostalgia hotrod and custom-show organized by Carclub The Scrapers. These guys know how how to put up a show with one heck of an afterparty. They managed to bring together the best nostalgic hotrods Europe has to offer. Some pretty amazing stuff. On saturday evening the Scraper's cars had to make room for the afterparty, wich was great due to Los Straightjackets and Big Sandy, just to be returned on the same spot on Sundaymorning for the 2nd day of the show.

But ofcourse there was a whole lot more beautiful work to see and buy. Even Keith Weesner was present selling his prints:

That '30 Ford wouldn't by chance have once belonged to Steve Caballero (80s pro skater) would it? I know he sold it to someobody in Europe...

Reference photo of Steve's car:

The Model A is indeed the infamous 'Coupe de Cab', Steve's old ride. It's now in the thrustfull hands of Von Skip. Btw, I've seen that car before in an other guise... It was dark green with the same scallops, although in orange. If I'm not mistaken, it belonged to the singer of rockabillyband 'Hotrod Trio'. In fact, I saw that coupe on their recordsleeve...

Excellent photos! It looks like Belgium rodders have a great eye for traditional hot rods. Thanks for posting those!

BTW, Weesner was at the Lone Star Roundup in Austin, TX just a few weeks ago. I have a few pieces of garage art from him.

Thanks for sharing! I had no idea there were so many American trad. rods in Holland. Of course I noticed a few Euro cars given the treatment, too.

Man! looks like a show that would make even a Detroiter proud. And I am. You fellas have alot of classic Detroit iron over there. If you brought that show over here you would have a line around the block. Thanks for sharing.
