Got some saddlebags from twjensen, he does good work. Still have to find a way to mount the swan without messing up the fender, but I have an idea on that. Anwyay, here's some new pictures, my dog was checking it out too.

Nice to see other people working on the 28" wheel bikes.
As much as I like balloon tire bikes, I like the adult sized
28" wheel bikes better

The wood graining looks really good!

I'm in the middle of a 1919 Elgin Resto-Mod; repainted to
match the original paint scheme but with Velocity P35 rims,
5 speed SRAM coaster brake hub, front drum. Velo Orange crank
and Left Bank handlebars etc. I'm making a replica of an original
rack in aluminum and will also be making an appropriate looking
headlight and battery tank. I'll start a thread here when I get the
polishing done.

I hope your dog's name isn't Whizzer

That sounds really interesting, I look forward to seeing it. I hear ya on the 28" bikes, this is my first one, and it's a totally different feeling when riding it from a balloon tire.

Update: I got a dropstand and ears on it. Finally, no more leaning it against a tree and hoping it doesn't fall. Believe it or not this is a reproduction stand, but it's so perfect nobody can tell the difference. I fabricated the clip out of some door thresh hold metal I had lying around.

Very nice work! Those rims are awesome. You'll have to do a how to thread on that.
It doesn't matter what I paid for it, it matters what it's WORTH. I never buy anything I will regret KEEPING.

what a beauty. I need to build a bike like this someday. Preferably a shaft drive, then I can kill two birds with one stone.

Take a look at his first post again. He took the tape off and woodgrained the wheels with paint. Very cool job of it too.

Re: Not that kind of 29er UPDATE: faux tank

Postby ruddigger on Sat Jan 19, 2013 8:59 pm

I went on a tweed ride today, so I grew myself a mustache and made a tank out of an old 2x4 that was sitting in my backyard. I'm really happy with how the color on it came out, I think it matches the rest of the bike pretty well, especially for just using what I had sitting around in the garage. The straps are some leftover pieces of brass I had from a previous project that I cut to shape and affixed to the tank with small brass nails. The slogan I wrote on the tank seemed to be getting a lot of love too. ;)
