"Krusty Kritter"

Postby FOUND OBJECTS on Sun Jul 27, 2008 4:54 pm

I had this in the closet for a whie. I shoved it in there because I was running out of room. My buddy Del gave it to me. It's an old '62 Schwinn 24". It was missing the seat and the bars. Other than that...it was complete and all flat black! So far, I added an old seat that seemed to fit the bike well. I thought about a new button seat... but I love this one! Plus why waste the money when you already have something. I picked up the swept bars from the local shop, and shortend them 5 inches on each side. The edges where kinda sharp so I covered them with some black grips. I went to lower the stem but I broke the bolt...So it's stuck at that height :) This will also add drama for fork issues I'm sure :( Then I wanted to name the bike...so I thought about what I want it to look like when done... and came up with "Krusty Kritter". So I painted the name on. That's where it sits for now :)

Nice. I really like the all black. Interesting idea on the bars. Good luck changing the fork(if and when you decide to do that).

Here's the tank insert I'll be adding...
Cut from wood then painted.
I'll fasten it with some pipe clamps and bolts.
Just bought the wrong lenght...

I won't be changing the fork, I guess.
I think the clean simple look up front with this one is hopefully gonna work.
With the bars it has a really snub nose look to it with out the fancy fork.
But I'll probably do a front fender add on of sorts...maybe. :)

Intro: I guess you would like me to introduce myself... oh Jeez! :D
I'm from Wisconsin, where I've been building bikes since I was 15 (15 years now).
I play experimental music in a band called life as number five.
Not really a band more an solo project...
It's a new sound called circuit bending which could be summed up on these sites:
http://www.getlofi.com
http://www.myspace.com/lifeasnumberfive
I used to be into building cars but I'm focusing away from gas fueled transportation.
Yes I've even built 2 motorized bicycles. (one got stolen)
Madison is so biker friendly so it all works out.
Plus it's way cheaper to build a bike... :P
I'm a pretty laid back dude with just having fun on the mind...
Cool! Hi! :?

Madison is such a road bike town. I really like the reaction you get on an old rat. It seems to range from amusement to full on rage. Good times.

What side of town are you on?

I play bass, btw. Mostly noise, ambient metal, experimental. Got gear and stuff. Yup.

Check out Harbor Freight on Verona Road...
They have tons of tools on the cheap you most likely will need at some point.
Great deals at 1/4 of the cost comparative to other stores.
Anything you can think of to build with ... they got it!

WESTSIDE!
I play music but it's a solo thing... :?
I've played in a lot of bands coming up.
When you count on others to show up it gets to be no fun!
Now it's all chill with no pressure to do anything till I want to :D
That's what keeps it fresh and fun!
But yeah man Bass is fun to twang on fo sho!
You got music posted anywhere?
