I decided to ride through the neighborhoods to find a way to the Dutton Island Preserve, about 3 miles south of my home. No problem, the weather was excellent, 70 and breezy. Dutton Island is a large part of the marshland waterfront area along the Intracoastal Waterway which separates Jacksonville from the Beaches. Good fishing and wildlife, to include alligators. It was originally purchased to make a ritzy waterfront community with all the amenities including water taxis to the city, but WW2 interfered, so the state wound up with all the land.
