Stupid nooby seat question

Postby Retrogee on Fri May 18, 2012 7:09 am

Could someone post a picture of how a seat typically mounts to the seat post ? I got mad at the previous bike and welded the seat rails to the post. ( yeah, I know...) I'd like to figure out how it should really be done. I'm assuming that I'm missing a clamp or something . Thanks!

Here ya go:
How it looks on the post

Just loosen the seat bolt and slide it on the seat post, rotate the collar the other way first to get forward and backward adjustment.

Because saddles are a, ummmm, 'personal thing'......sometimes we keep a saddle we really like and can put it on whatever else we get, other times the saddles are pretty much junk/toasted; they take a lot of abuse and many were given indifferent care; sometimes they get ripped off.
So many bikes, so little time.......

Or stolen while parked out side a pub.
If it won't come off with laquer thinner, you need an abrasive!
