Thats gonna be nice.
What would Jesus ride???
what on earth?
thats black, 1 coat of gold, spray flake, another coat of gold, then 3 coats of clear - my phone camera doesnt pick it up too well, but its awesome,
starting to look like a bike
oh la la - i have something up my sleeve when it comes to the fenders, so i havent quite mounted them up yet.
some cool acorns i found at the hardware store.
tractor headlight - gonna convert to LED
BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY ROCK IT EVERYWHERE!@!@!@!
That is one of the most "stylish" bikes made!.......And black and gold are the two most stylish colors.
MY INTRO/BIKES ... WHEEL WE EVER BE SATISFIED?
Its a very nice bike....Kota dont you have a bike to go lean on a tree or something
What would Jesus ride???
Ha, you went black! Good choice, the colors look good and the headlight should really top it off nicely.

Nice, I'm diggin this build!!
Dumpster divin' since 2nd grade.
so im working from home today doing some freelance graphic design for a company and im starting to go crosseyed looking at the screen, so i do a few hours work, then go outside and work on the bike
i was thinking about how i could distract your eye from the rusty fenders,
so i layed some scalops on the back of the fenders - i should have taken pictures but i was too excited to remove the tape and see how they came out
i also made it so that the lower ends of the scalops were covered by the rack braces, i never realized how hard it is to lay down stuff like this evenly, my flexible ruler came in handy
once everything is said and done, i have to break out my pinstriping brush and do a red stripe around the edges of them
i took this picture for 2 reasons, one is to show the size of this thing, its freaking huge! and to show how the front end looks without load - every x-53 ive seen looks so high and goofy in the front when its sitting without a rider on it. my whizzer has the same fork and even with my girlfriend on it, it streches out and lowers the front end, so i started making a little lowering block to bring the springs a but further away from the tower
i want it and i cave it looks better than the red house paint. nice work

The body work of this bike totally goes with the beehive, in fact, it MAKES the beehive!
it's all about the bikes, man. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=50053
I was going to update my sig line, but I'm not seein' anything worth plagiarizing right now.
thanks for the kind words everyone.
i started working a bit on the headlight, im headed over to the electronics store a little later on to see what i can find.
but i thought id post somewhat of a how to for how im painting this bike: for the fenders i used just gold with clear but for the rack and the headlight i wanted something a bit diffrent
first thing i did was mask, then i took some 3m stripping pad and gave the area a quick work over. then on goes the gold paint
i let it dry then sprayed this glitter spray i got at an art store. the trick with this stuff is to mist it on there very slowly letting it be even.. its in some weird glue/clear coat stuff that is pretty stinky so use a gas mask. you have to be careful because the stuff bunches up and you'll get runs in the flake.
i like to dust on another coat of gold after teh flake to kinda seal it in, the flake looks a little more professional i think...
to be honest i didnt want to divulge my secret magical clear coat, but i will
this stuff lays perfectly every time and makes anything look good.
heres the result
wow! This thing is looking nice. Can't wait for more updates!!
i like the ratty paint, then just paint gold scallops over it. looks great!

"Dä ä aldri kört!"
thats a supreme compliment coming from you...
i wasnt satisfied with my headlight, it needed something else...
heres how it came out
along with my girlfriends feet.
also i was digging in my parts box and i came up with my un-used 57 caddy hub cap bullets that i think might be cool as x-53 hubcaps
i was also toying with the idea of using a 40s police siren on the rear rack... who knows what danger lurks in your plumbing? adeeeeedoo!
