8347 users on this site. $1 each. Gonna be hard to get $20 out of a lot of guys but maybe just having guys donate what they can, you will get more people in on it. How about sending around a virtual offering plate I for one would gladly donate $20 or more to enhance this already great site.

I think this could be more of an ongoing campaign...maybe with one of those thermometer's that shows how far we have to go.

I would pay 20$ for a membership this site rocks and im on it everytime I get near a pc!But a [LIKE] tab on posts would be really cool,Most peoples posts have ten times the views compared to comments,and viewers could just click a [Like] tab without commenting.RatRod you really have made a great site ,Hands down the best bicycle site on the web!

i am on here just about every day. there is no way alot of guys here could afford 20 bucks when alot of people like me mostly do trading to put our bikes together just because the lack of extra cash. i love this site its my pasttime

I'm pretty content with the way things are. I do understand where Steve's at though. You don't build something like this and just let it sit. You want to continually tweak and improve.

We tried building the FB Like button into the forum and things acted goofy.

Until phpbb3 offers it within the next gen of the software we'll have to wait.

I like the idea that a donation system could make someone a member with different access, or even just a cool color or icon on their name.

Something in addition to the "Moderator" thing that appears in the info box with the username. Other sites use things like military ranks, or as mentioned gold silver bronze. I like the idea that a donor could move up to "Rust".

I like the idea of a built in gallery, but have also seen it become troublesome on some automotive websites. It will get large too, but file space and bandwidth gets cheaper every day right?

Photobucket is easy to use for hosting once a user figures it out- obviously 1000's of us have successfully done that. So the improvement should be something that really benefits the site, recognizing that is isn't a necessity.

On the other hand we've generated tons of new customers for Photobucket... Which by the way I use for posting pictures elsewhere and sharing with people. Will the gallery here handle that? Will it accept external requests? What if a photo gets linked into some national story, and you receive millions of hits on it? Will you end up getting a limit on downloads or running into bandwidth problems because of that?

I'm sort of playing devil's advocate and trying to consider all the things that could come up with hosting.

And again, you know that I and everyone here, appreciates what you've done for the hobby. I know it pays you handsomely.

I have faith Steve is going to do what he thinks is the right thing for the site... I'm cool with whatever! It's not like I'm going to say "Man, that new gallery system stinks, I'm outta here!" So it's all good.

Then again, maybe it's just cause I'm so laid back.
