Here's the rear fender paint. It looks funny because it's about half sanded in preparation for clearcoating:

The idea is that the black and red stripes on the seat stays and chain stays line up with the stripes on the fender zipping along its length.

And it has a pointy thing:

Thanks for the offer of sticker help and the comments on the paint. It really is encouraging to hear positive comments.

I just started clearcoating that fender tonight, but it appears I have some bugs to work out*.

*Bugs are stupid. They land in your paint and get stuck. They fly down the wrong side of the highway and wonder why they end up smashed on your windshield. They land on flypaper. I mean for Pete's sake, it's called flypaper; don't they figure something is up with that. Read the label foolish bug. Don't they know that wet paint is wet? I mean, what the heck...

Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle FLY PAPER!!!!!

Get yourself one of those bug zappers and place it about 12 feet away to attract the bugs away from your pretty yellow and black flypaper.

I love this bike! My kids have got me buying old muscle bikes, but this is awesome. We have talked about redoing one of ours but never thought about a drag concept. Keep up the good work!!!

Thanks for the compliments! After spending hours with a kid not doing well in algebra, I got bugs worked out:

Bug 1:

Image

Bug 1 was an ugly bug. It's bad enough to be a bug in my paint, but to be an ugly bug in my paint was even more annoying. So I blew on the bug hoping it would knock it out of the paint, but it just fell over and caused more problems. Kinda like the ant that jumped to his death into the black paint on my front fender. Anyway, I waited for the clear to dry enough to sand out the little bug which wasn't bad since this was just the first light coat of clear anyway, but this lead to Bug 2 right after coat 2 of paint:

Image

Bug 2 was just a standard old bug, not as ugly as bug 1 and didn't fall over either. Just died standing up--easy to pick out with a screw driver using a light touch and a small amount of cussing.

After bug 2 I got smart and put up a no bug sign and didn't have any more problems.

Image

So now I have a fender:

If your worried about bugs take a fan point it at what ever you have painted and turn it on there will be jut enough wind to keep the bugs from coming near it....
