Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle BikeThanks, but since I am not yet done, I still have the opportunity to screw it up.
If you will recall when I painted the rear fender, I had two purposes in mine. One was that there was simply way too much yellow. The other was that the fender didn't follow the tire as well as I wanted, and kicked up at the back, so I wanted to disguise that. That is one of the reasons for the black at the back of the fender--it blends in with the tire and you don't see the rise in the fender so much now. ![]() ![]() Now I have a chain too: ![]() And a sissy bar: ![]() The extra top and bottom holes in the sissy bar will have acorn nuts filling them like I did on my daughter's bike: ![]() http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=46524&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=banana+seat+girl%27s+bike+that+used+to+be+a+schwinn&start=105 Here I am so far: ![]() I have a black and white seat coming. I'll have to look at them both and then decide which works better. I used some silicone on the sidewalls of the rear tire to make it blacker. The stem and handlebars are from the Bratz bike. I tried being serious, but it was boring.
Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle BikeLooks like it could have been straight from '68, but even cooler!!!

Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle BikeWow, it looks fantastic! The details are exceptional. Seat will be another stand out feature.

Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle BikeThanks for the compliments guys. I am glad you think it looks like a '68, kingfish, as I was trying for somewhat of a vintage type look.
I am going to have to get a wheelie bar going: ![]() I don't like the standard look though where the support bar mounts up on the sissy bar, like this: ![]() It looks too bolt-on instead of built-in. I'm going to mount my support braces below the axle methinks. I'm going for something more like this--excluding the fire. ![]() I tried being serious, but it was boring.
Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle BikeI built one for my Stingray that mounts up to the seat back. Had some weird struts laying around. Think they came off of some lawn equipment?
![]() We recovered this seat with some fabric. would look awesome on your ride. ![]() Your bike looks amazing! Like it was made at the Kool Factory like that.
Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle BikeI am still in awe of that fantastic paint job!!

Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle Bike
That is a cool seat. If my black and white seat doesn't work out, that is one I would try. I remember seeing that bike lurking in the background of one of your pictures of your build off bike I think. In fact, when I saw it, I looked for some similar material at a local Jo-Ann Fabric store, but they didn't have any, so I didn't pursue it any further. The black and white frame on that bike looks really good with the the white walls and red wheels. Oh, and thanks for the Kool Factory compliment.
Thanks Houndog!
Thanks for that link. That is more of the look I am going for--maybe not quite that low, but pretty much a similar idea. I won't be fabricating the whole thing like he did though as I am using the original sissy bar from the Bratz bike for a base. I think I'll make a bracket hanging from the axle for the attachment point. Here's a picture of the PRO-stock swingbike idea: ![]() I tried being serious, but it was boring.
Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle BikeOn the way back from buying an old Western Flyer bicycle and two old Schwinn frames (which is the best haul of my bike-buying life), I stopped at a farm supply store and came home with a single red wheel. I will remove the bracket and mount it with an axle. It is 4" diameter. I'm thinking I'm gonna like it. That black plastic cap thing may be exchanged for something made of steel or aluminum.

Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle BikeOK, how about something like this layout? Attachment may be something of an issue.
