You've come outta the gate firing on this thing. Giant change in attitude already. Very interested to see where this one ends up.

Dude, you need to post some photos of the wicked fat tire bike in the background!!! That's gotta be the one you were talking about!
MO FATTA MO HARLEY MO BETTA!

Also, maybe you could mount that shifter on the gooseneck itself? It would be totally hidden then.

Thats such a good idea! I love this place! I wish It were real so I could hang here all day!!! lol go to the builds section The Batchetman Beach cruiser is in there now!!! thanks for the welcoming! feels good!!

ok so I saw this car and Inspiration exploded Ive never built a lowrider cause im not big into the looks dont get me wrong they look awesome just not for me this is my kind of lowrider!! so ive decided to theme my bike after this lowered powerhouse of american muscle! An American muscle themed lowrider. I know I know my bike was made in west germany but! it was assembled in the states!!! lol. the name will come to me eventually, the immigrant is kinda sticking out to me(from germany to us) but its in the air. all i know is im even more excited to keep building now!!! I hope itll be enough to keep you guys interested in my build!!!!

Cool Lead Sled for inspiration.
Maybe your name could be "Immigrant Song" of Led Shred.

Clueless's done and repectfully renamed "The American Immigr

Postby EasyRider420 on Mon Aug 06, 2012 12:13 pm

First things first if its gonna be a lowrider we gotta lower it! I saw it in a forum abou "lowering the rear of ur bike with no welding" they used brake pads and bolted em on well i have access to a welder a nice big Lincoln Tig to be exact , So those bad boys got welded on. then i used a big anglegrinder to dut out some drop outs! :) I finished welding at like 1130 the night before so when i came back the next day to take pics u guessed it, surface rust, well to some to me its instant "patina" lol
Image
Image
thats better! it looked too silly without fenders so i rested those on there for looks. but i liked em i thought i mangled em when i was rolling a baseball inside of them to change width and circumference but they came out awesome!!!! notice it sits on the pedal :)
Image
Image
Image
well i went for a ride and the pedals are wayyy to close to the ground and lets just say my knee hurts from finding that out lol so new arms it is only one problem, These parts are old and not in the specs of what we use now so a donor one piece is needed and i got just the one. my girl is doin a lil build of her own and this is the crank out of her awesome Next "slumber party"! wish i had both those pink pedals....
Image
Then I hit another "hump" the inside diameter of the bearings for both bikes are the same but the outside diameter is different!!!!! ARGH!! no worries well just modify modify modify!!!!! lol i needed to grind down the outside of the race seats for the bearings so they'd fit inside that old tiny B.B.! it was long and tedious, and imperfect lol but i got it done!!
Image
Image
Image
now that it fits i re-attached the chainguard, took the unnecessary chain slack and its lookin pretty cool. I took it for a lil ride and the different size sprocket upfront really changes the gear ratios for the better!!! still hate those bars though!!! lol and it still rests on the pedal!!!!!!!! love that part, it says "im frickin Low!"
Image
Image
Image
Image
it looked silly to me with no front fender so lets fix that!!! clamp, attach, cut!!
Image
Image
Image
While were at it lets trim down that chain guard too,
Image
Now shes lookin pretty sweet, I tried to keep as much of the original parts as i could, the wheels, pedals, crank, sprocket, seat, and those bars, such an eye sore!!!, are the unoriginals on the bike everything else was there when it rolled out of the factory, lol even the front brakes!!!
Image
Image
Image
ok so seriously, I got these bars yesterday, I thought i was stuck with the ugly's but fate pulled through and I found the perfect bars! I didnt get grips because the other aspect of my build is the only money spent was on the bike itself 16 bucks thats it well and some blood sweat and tears lol true rat at its finest and kingfish gave me the idea for its final name, lil of his lil of mine.... drum role please dahdahdahadhahahdahdhadhadhahdahdadha. The American Immigrant!
