Hammered Higgins

Postby MazdaFlyer on Sun Jul 15, 2012 3:36 pm

I Had some parts left over from a swap meet, found a 26" JC Higgins frame, so here is the result. I had rebuilt several other bikes outside the parameters of the RRB’s build offs. Some are posted in RRB Gallery. Thought I would give this a try, one more of my bucket list items to mark off. I had some drop center rims off a pre-war Roadmaster and used a Sturmey Archer 2 speed coaster brake rear hub with a Formula track hub on front. I decided to use hammered paint, thus the title, "Hammered Higgins" which evolved to include hammers and adult beverage references including a removable cargo crate.

You hit the nail on the head with this one!

By the way, I am jealous of your headlight/horn. Keep it locked up if you see me in the neighborhood.

Killer bike man...I love old Higgins frames and they have been real popular lately. Seriously, this is one sweet ride. Congrats on a great bike.
