Re: Addison Speed SpecialThey are best straightened as much as possible before lacing, but go easy at first to you get a handle on it, it isn't hard to twist them or throw them out of round.(worse than side wobble, IMO)

I was going to update my sig line, but I'm not seein' anything worth plagiarizing right now.

Re: Addison Speed Speciallol, well maybe "hauntingly" was a poor choice of words. i just really dig those CWC dropouts. i think they have the coolest shape of all the bikes from that era.
what the?.......
Re: Addison Speed Specialthey are nice. some look like they're gonna snap off just sittin there, some look like.. is it gonna fly away?

Re: Addison Speed SpecialI believe that is correct. Not just skiptooth, but just about any threadring coaster hub. Not necessarily for a full build, but for spoke replacement in any case.

Re: Addison Speed SpecialI would just pull the guts for lacing, then screw it back together for tuning.

Re: Addison Speed Specialthats what i was thinking. i already assembled it, but its not THAT hard to do it. im hoping to get the wheels together within the next week, so i have time to put together the finishing touches, while riding it, like a true rat.

Re: Addison Speed SpecialSince it's a plate clutch type, you don't really need to anything w/the brake side but slide it out and slide it back in as a unit. Just keep the sprocket side facing up, take off the cone, unscrew the bendix, leave everything on the axle.

Re: Addison Speed Speciali got the rear wheel together! i got the rear rim painted before the front, so i took it up to the bike shop and had eric show me how to lace it. it was actually easier than i thought. so i took it home, tuned the hub, and tossed on the original rim strip and the NOS tire, put it on the bike, and threw the chain on. i just feel great about the bike now. im going to go work on the front now.
