Re: Build off #6 TrophyI had another frame already cut up and was stripping off the paint. Then I discovered I needed the seat tube and now I have to start over. only lost a day, no problem.
More pics tomorrow. .
Re: Build off #6 TrophyHere is the base for the trophy.
![]() I started to remove the paint with a flapper disc for that nice industrial finish. 80 first on the high spots then 120 on the regular paint. I may have to go lower to smooth it out more so Jen can stripe it. .
Re: Build off #6 Trophy 4/20 The BaseTire is here! 16x3
![]() mounted up ![]() i got a 20" pizza pan and then cut out the disc with the plasma cutter. ![]() one for the front and one for the rear. and thats all i got for now. .
Re: Build off #6 Trophy 4/26 Parts are here!Sweet a top billing. I guess I better bring it.
I have to cut new discs tomorrow night. My original intention was to have the disc lay right in where it is so you could see the chrome rim. Then I was going to lay a gold chain around the edge covering up the disc edge. Due to several factors I have to make the discs larger. The electronics won't fit in there due to the dish of the wheel. I have to take it all out so I will have max room between the disc and hub. I still have to run an axle so it spins which takes up more room. As a result I am going with a more traditional disc set up, right to the edge of the rim. Gets to building .
Re: Build off #6 Trophy 5/1 get it on!So... what's happening here?
it's all about the bikes, man. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=50053
I was going to update my sig line, but I'm not seein' anything worth plagiarizing right now.
Re: Build off #6 Trophy 5/1 get it on!I worked on it today. I used a wire wheel to get the rest of the paint off. Pics to come.
I am waiting on a template for the 6. I need to drill holes around the perimeter of the 6 for the lights. I figure if I know how the person striping it is going to do it I can drill the holes ahead of time so I don't ruin any art. Just waiting. .
Re: Build off #6 Trophy 5/1 get it on!Updates? I'm getting my trophy case ready and I don't want the velvet rope around it to clash with the trophy.
