Didn't have much time this weekend to work on frame, this weekend. Trying to meke a nice weekend for my wife for Mothers Day. I did get to start putting some body filler on.

One of my thoughts was to put a ridge on the top bar to mimick the ridge on the Mustang hood.

My goal for the week isto finish u the frame and get it i primer, and start to do a mock up.

So you are the one who scored on this bike! I remember it. Dingo and I were wondering who bought it and were pretty much fighting over it. I finally found one right here a few weeks back and bought it so that shows how hard they are to find. About 2 years? Anyway great start for a build!

Glad that you found one too. Like I said I was amazed that I was the first to grab it.

Finally had some time to work on frame. Had lots of time to think about paint scheme, and unfortunatly I'm not feeling the shiny new look. So I may go in another direction with the paint. Some of the things I did to the frame;

Filled in the stamped on drop outs, I didn't think they went with the workmanship of the rest of the frame
Image

I also addeda crease on the center of the top tube, just cause I thought it looked good with the lines of the rest of the bike
Image

So today I got it sanded cleaned and primed, I will clean up the rest of the frame with some glazing putty and prime again with a high fill primer and then it will be ready for finishing.

Slowly making progress, busy with work now, but trying to do a little every week. I just love the craftmanship of this frame.
Sanded and finished 'body work'

and sprayed a light coat of primer,

This pic shows the ridge on the top tube that I added and I am very happy with the way it came out

Hope to wet sand and the prime and put my basecoat on,by the weekend, and then start to put some parts on. I am not big on fenders, but I have an old set of peaked fenders I may put on, but would have to either bob it or lengthen it so it wraps around farther

Thanks for all the comments, this is part of the build off that I enjoy, the encouragement from other members. I have been working out of town and will be for the next several weeks so not much getting done on bike except ideas in my head.
I did get the frame Primed in black
Image
I keep waffling on the finish though, originally I was going to go with a satin black with gloss black scallops (sort of a ghost effect) with gloss black and charcoal pinstripes, I wanted something very subtle. But then I keep seeing rust, and I am thinking of a faux patina, just to show some of my painting skills. Then I am thinking something old school, non metallic maroon, ivory scallops and maybe and orange pinstripe maybe slightly distressed.
I just think this part of the frame is begging for some nice striping

Love the black primer coat on this already cool frame. Can't wait to see the final color finish.

Here's the color scheme that your frame needs...

Not my bike, but every time I see your bike these colors pop in my head. :)
