The For Sale Section

Postby rusty513 on Wed Dec 28, 2011 2:24 pm

I'm just really surprised lately how much non bicycle stuff is for sale in the "for sale" section. Old money, hot wheels, pedal cars, video games & just random crap. Just my 2 cents but shouldn't it be for just bicycle stuff?

I have submitted a list of revisions to Rat Rod for his approval. Until then, please don't make waves.

I am guilty of this but on the same token I usually spend more here than I sell, the majority of the stuff I try to sell is bicycle related. This is Ratrodbikes , why would I state that ? well if I remember correctly quite a few build off bikes used non bicycle stuff to add character to they're builds including this years winner Deluxe 6 Rat Racer , he used some auto emblems, so thats my 2 cents, I am just doing what I can to survive anymore and enjoy this hobby....its not like I have a steady paycheck due to circumstances beyond my control.

I'm fairly new here and try to go by the rules but I don't see anything in the for sale classified rules that state "only" bicycle parts can be advertised

As Goldy above said, I'm cool with most things up here for sale, particularly if it's auto/motorcycle (read: wheeled machines) related. I just bought an old hood ornament to be used on a future project, and if someone had been selling it here, I would've gone for it. But there is a weird line, for me. When Outsider here puts up his Rolexes, that seems like the wrong site for that. ;)

In the end though, you can always just skip over the stuff for sale that seems out of place for you.

It would probably be good if classified ads could expire and be deleted after 30 or 45 days
